Afternoon Ride - Upstate New York - November 3, 2005

Here we are at one of the entrances to Harriman State Park in NY. You will see why I love riding my motorcycle around here.

There won't be much commentary as it's all scenery. These were taken around 3:30 on a crisp November afternoon.

Overlooking a lake.

The colors are much more vibrant in person. It was hard to capture on my little digital camera.

Another lake - with an island.

I just LOVE riding my motorcycle on these country winding back roads!

More lake shots...

Trying to get the setting sun . . .

I can sit here and look out over the water for hours.

A little blurry, but the color ain't bad.

Looking down a hill at the water. Sun through the trees...

Another great country road.

On an overpass above the New York State Thruway. I am pointing North.

This is not the State Park any more. Another favorite spot, the next few pictures are of a railroad tressel bridge. Simply breath-taking in person.

Getting closer.

Approaching it on yet ANOTHER country back road.

Trying to give you an idea of the height . . .

Looking down from the top...

Looking out for trains. This is actually kinda high up. And with my fear of heights, it was an experience looking down through the grating.

Over looking the valley from the bridge.

It's hard to see, but this is the trail to the top of the bridge. It was fun climbing with my leather jacket and riding boots.

Bonus shot - About half way down, standing on the embankment under the tressel bridge. There's my bike . . . waiting like a trusty steed.

Well, hopefully I was able to convey just how beautiful it is around here. All of these shots were taken withinn 15 mile of my house.

During motorcycle riding season (which is any day that it gets around 50 degress F or above), it's a great stress relief to hop on the bike and trek into the hills. You can feel the tension melt away.

Next season, when we go further into NYS, up nto the Catskills or the Adirondacks, I can show you even more.

Thanks for taking a look.
